Target – Church Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Once home to the historic Keith-Albee Kenmore Theater, which first opened in 1928, this landmark building has long been a cornerstone of the Church Avenue community. Today, it continues that legacy through the transformation into a new Target small-format store—bringing renewed vitality and modern convenience to the neighborhood.

B.R. Fries provided full construction management services for Target’s new two-level retail space, overseeing every aspect of the project from start to finish. The buildout included a new marquee awning, installation of vertical transportation systems, and meticulous restoration of the building’s original decorative plaster ceilings.

The completed store spans the first and second floors and features a full-service CVS Pharmacy and a Starbucks café with a welcoming seating area for customers. Through thoughtful planning, expert craftsmanship, and attention to historic detail, B.R. Fries delivered a space that seamlessly blends Target’s modern brand experience with the architectural character of its iconic setting.
