Comptroller of the Currency

This 35,000 square foot build-out of offices on the 4th and 5th floors at 340 Madison Avenue houses the Comptroller of the Currency. High level finishes, millwork, imported custom lighting and new MEP systems are integrated throughout the space which includes open plan and private offices, multiple conference rooms, reception areas, a computer facility, pantries and storage areas. B.R. Fries also upgraded the elevator lobby and common areas on the 4th floor.

B. R. Fries faced numerous challenges in executing this complex interior project: a fast paced schedule, a highly detailed design, impossibly tight ceiling conditions, and a building that was undergoing major renovations while the project was being built. Steve Scofield, the project manager, handled these difficulties in stride and maintained quality control throughout the construction effort. B.R. Fries top management was always available to address client concerns and led his team successfully around the pitfalls of the demanding Manhattan construction market. From an architect’s perspective, the end result justifies the time and effort that went into the design.
